Architect, Maryann Thompson
For this grand house just outside Harvard Square, built in 1856, we renovated the kitchen, powder room, master bedroom with full bathroom, and exterior entrance.
Kitchen: For the kitchen a major feature in this gut renovation was to add eight floor to ceiling windows. We built and installed bleached walnut cabinets, stainless steel countertops, an aluminum appliance garage. As a finishing touch we installed engineered Carrera marble slabs on the appliance walls.
Powder Room: Custom built wainscoting, installed clients antique pedestal sink and applied wallpaper.
Stairway: Built of rift cut white oak stair treads, glass curtain, and stainless steel railing.
Master Bathroom: Installed floor to ceiling engineered Carrera marble on the walls. Custom made vanity.
Exterior Entry: Deck built of western red cedar and reproduced mahogany trim details and two curved copper roof overhangs to match existing historical details.
